If there were any slivers of doubt left about whether I'm leaving WLWT in a few weeks, they're gone. My replacement has been hired. She was here for an interview last Wednesday and apparently accepted the job Friday. A few of us had lunch with her and she seems very bright. I think she'll work out very well.
It's getting cold here. There's something about a quiet Sunday morning in the fall when it's just a little too chilly to enjoy being outside. It feels all cozy and stuff. I think it'll be very interesting in a few weeks to leave cold weather here and watch it get warmer and warmer as I head south.
I mentioned packing up my apartment yesterday. I've begun to realize at some point I need to start thinking about packing my backpack. I don't even know if everything will fit. I am taking a slightly larger pack that many travelers so it'd better all fit. It's the same Dana Designs Glacier pack I used on the Appalachian Trail. I still have a few things I need to pick up that'll go in there. I hope to get to an outfitter in Milford, Ohio today for that. Just for fun, here's the list of what I still need to buy...
Pack Towl
Multi-Globe outlet adapter (one little cube that can adapt to almost any outlet)
Multi-volt DC adapter for cd player (to charge batteries at odd voltages)
Rechargeable batteries for cd player if can’t find the ones that came with it
Camera battery charger (Maybe. Would replace the power adapter I have and allow charging the battery outside the camera. This way a power surge won't smoke my camera.)
Some kind of shirt with buttons... nicer than the t-shirts I have now
