Ridin' the 64 Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

I got reacquainted with mass transportation today. It was my first time I didn't have a ride to work and had the chance to take the bus. It was great. I should've been doing this years ago.
I boarded the 64 in upscale Hyde Park and was the only one on the bus. The driver and I then blew threw neighborhood after neighborhood without picking up a single person. Then we crossed Interstate 71. This would be the part of town most of us pretend doesn't exist. We picked up or dropped somebody off at every intersection. I tend to forget that for a good chunk of the population, this is how they get around. Wanna go somewhere? Find out when the bus leaves.
It's a direct run to the station. By direct I mean I didn't have to change buses. Our route was by no means direct. I arrived right on time, with a minute or two to walk the two blocks to the station. During that short walk on a beautiful spring morning, one of the sales weasels blew by me in his pseudo-luxury car with his windows rolled up and sucking on a cigarette. I felt morally superior.|
