Mom's second football game. After a loss last week to Sullivan County, the Predators hoped to come back against the women of Scott County.

They killed them.

Thirty-something to six, I think. It was their first night game... under the lights at PMS. It was fun to watch since they dominated from the first quarter. The really interesting part, though, was later.

Mom's lately taken to visiting a bar... I should say the bar there in Pennington called the Rooster's Pub. In these parts, there's a stigma about teachers being seen drinking in public. She's finally decided she could'nt care less.

Some of the ladies from the team were going there after the game and I went along. I ended up seeing two guys I graduated with and hadn't met in ten years... including Tim Phillips who routinely threatened to beat me up. He's much nicer now. I also talked to Nicky Williams, who I didn't recognize and kinda blew off when he called me by my name taking my ticket at the gate.

The highlight of the evening was the chugging contest between Mom and me. I'd never even been out drinking with her, much less challenged her to a drinking contest. I beat her soundly in both the initial challenge, and her puny attempt at a rematch. She contends she won the second round. She's mistaken.
